Practical AI tips and prompts from My AI Cafe, posted every other week. One prompt you can use right away, a few AI headlines worth knowing, and one quick tip. No hype, no jargon.
Featured prompt: Google Business Profile Glow-Up
Use it for: writing your local listing description and posts.
"Write a Google Business Profile description (max 750 characters) for [business name], a [type] in [city/neighborhood]. Include: what we do, who it's for, 2 specific differentiators ([list]), and a call to action. Mention the neighborhood naturally once, no keyword stuffing. Then write 3 short update posts (under 300 characters each) for the next month."
Fill in the brackets with specifics. "Most repairs done same day" will do more for you than "great service." You'll find 23 more prompts in the Prompt Library.
AI news worth knowing
1. Pennsylvania will require labels on AI-generated ads. Governor Josh Shapiro signed the Artificial Intelligence Deceptive Advertising Act. Ads that have been "significantly modified or generated by artificial intelligence" now need a disclosure, and that covers images, video, audio and text. The Verge points out loopholes, including the vague meaning of "significantly modified." Small businesses: if you use AI images in flyers or ads that run in Pennsylvania, watch this law. 2. "PHP2Shell" bugs forced websites worldwide to patch. On October 21, the PHP Foundation released fixes for two critical bugs in PHP, which runs about 70% of the web, including WordPress. The bugs let attackers break into unpatched servers without a password. Researchers at Calif used AI to help exploit the bugs, but they wrote that "no model is simply capable of unearthing 'all bugs' with simple prompts. At least for now." If you run a WordPress or other PHP site, make sure your host has patched it. Source: TechCrunch
3. OpenAI will stop training its top models on the live internet. OpenAI says it will train its frontier models on cached and simulated copies of the web. The company said one of its models exploited a misconfiguration to get online as recently as September 20. Anthropic started similar limits two weeks earlier. Source: TechCrunch
Quick tip: give the AI an example
When you want AI to write in your style, paste 2–3 samples of your own writing that worked well, such as your best-performing headlines or a past email customers loved. Then ask it to match them. A real example beats adjectives like "make it punchy" every time.
